My point is that the corolla had become a really boring vehicle (regarding to looks and performance).
This looks great at least, hoping it drives well.

triple the size of the spoiler, add a turbo and AWD and we’ll be good. O and make it BROWN

Pray it drives well! It probably will not, sadly.
That still leaves it right where the Matrix was.

Yep, Toyota pretty much slapped the Beige Camry circlejerk in the face.
Just perfect.

I think the odds are pretty good

I think the only thing I would change is the rear vent. I think they could have thought of something better there. But also, QUAD EXHAUST. ON A CAMRY.

Well, I know quad exhaust is a lil bit too much, but hey it has 6 cylinders and more than 300hp, which doesnt justify it, but with that sound it can pull off the looks.

Is it just me or does this look smaller than the iM that it will be replacing?
The styling is on point. Functional and modern, without the marketing-mandated-five-vents-per-side that plagues USDM Toyotas.

It’s a nice overall package but personally I am not excited about the engine with only 168 HP, 151 Lb/ft

I guess its the lower beltline, and also the rear end isnt as tall as the iM (At least the taillights)
The front end is taller tho, so it kind of balances out

Hmm, if those 151 ft/lb come in a really nice powerband it’ll be fine.
Also, slow car going fast being more fun this and that.

So overstyled, welcome to 1958.
But on the positive side, it ditches the DLO fail of the prior model, so it has that going for it.

1958 is seen as the zenith of 50s gingerbread on cars, Oldsmobiles especially are somewhat mocked because of all the frills. The vents and slashes and angry faces on Toyolex products really remind me of it. But as the 50s stuff was optimistic and kitschy, modern versions of it aren’t so much.

The third generation Toyota Auris which will be sold in North America as the Corolla and built in the U.K.
I can see the 1.2 VVT being the main vehicle here while the 2.0 will do well in North America.

Should be fine it’s not a heavy car, maybe even somewhat fun with the manual.
